*If you are looking to sponsor someone you know, please look into the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) program instead. Refugees participating in the BVOR program  cannot be named by sponsors, refugees overseas also cannot apply to participate in the BVOR program. The selection of refugees for the BVOR program is made by the UN Refugee Agency and the Canadian Government.
