SUMMARY:Navigating Secondary Migration (Webinar for sponsors\, lawyers\, settlement staff & refugees overseas)
DESCRIPTION:What exactly needs to happen when a sponsored refugee decides to move away from their intended community of settlement during the sponsorship period (or if they never arrive there in the first place)? This process\, called Secondary Migration\, has become a bit of a hot topic for a number of reasons. \nSponsors and sponsored newcomers are often left with a lot of questions about how to handle this kind of change\, including: \n\nwhat are the sponsors’ responsibilities?\nare sponsors obligated to continue supporting the people they have sponsored when they move away?\nwho will support the refugee newcomers in their new community?\nwho do you contact\, what paper work needs to be filled out?\nwhat is the step-by-step process in ensuring a smooth transition?\nwho can help?\n\nThe information shared will be valuable whether you’re currently facing a Secondary Migration situation or if you’re simply trying to be prepared. \nWho is this webinar for? \n\nlawyers\nsponsors (BVOR and PSR program)\nsettlement counsellors\nrefugees abroad\nsponsorship agreement holders (SAHs)\n\n  \nWe ask that you please try to keep case-specific questions on topic. \nJoin us live and bring your questions!  \nTo register – please CLICK HERE.\n(This webinar takes place in Eastern time / starts at 6 PM EST)
