Sponsorship Cost Table

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have developed the Sponsorship Cost Table and In-Kind Deduction Table.

The Sponsorship Cost Table is designed to provide Groups of Five, Community Sponsors and SAHs in Plan C with an estimate at the application stage of the financial support they must provide to refugees sponsored via the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) program.

The Sponsorship Cost Table is only an estimate. It is not the actual level of financial support that sponsors must provide when the refugee(s) they sponsor arrive in Canada.

Please refer to the IMM 5413 Guide for SAHs, the IMM 2200 Guide for Groups of Five and the IMM 2201 Guide for Community Sponsors for further information.

Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) Rates

The actual minimum level of financial support that sponsors must provide when the refugee(s) arrive in Canada is based on the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) rates. Sponsors can use the Minimum Financial Support Calculator to calculate the minimum level of financial support based on the RAP rates. Depending on where the refugee(s) will live in Canada, the actual amount of financial support based on the RAP rates may be higher or lower that the estimate based on the Sponsorship Cost Table.

The RAP rates consist of two components 1) Start-Up Costs and 2) Monthly Costs. The Start-Up Costs are the same for all provinces, whereas the Monthly Costs differ by province. You can find a breakdown of the Start-Up Costs and Monthly Costs here.
